Our Programs

There are fabulous dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and more out there waiting for their new leash on life.  If you are interested in adopting a new family member please contact us for an application.  We are currently working with other rescue groups to help find homes for pets that are in desperate need of a fresh start.  Foster homes are always needed for pets as they await their new forever homes.  There is no better place for a pet at risk to feel hope than in the arms of a caring and loving person.

A Surrender Prevention Initiative.

Quite often when folks hit a speed bump in life, they feel helpless and tend to make decisions in a heightened emotional state. During times of financial hardship a great many feel they have no choice but to surrender their beloved pet for fear of no longer being able to provide food to them.  We know that during these times the human / animal bond is needed the most.
To sever that bond not only breaks hearts and spirit, but also places pets in jeopardy as they enter already over - burdened shelters.  The intention of the Mountain Haven Pet Food Pantry is to assist during this time with the feeding of beloved pets so that they stay where they belong..with their owners.  We truly believe that no pet should be hungry or hear the slip of the shelter kennel latch and the fear of an uncertain future because of a financial set back.
If you are facing financial difficulty that inhibits your ability to feed your pet, please reach out to us our goal is to help you through this rough patch and prevent the surrender of your pet.  Pets belong with their loving and caring owners, through good times and the not so good times.  Let us help you. Contact us for an application today.  We have received grant funding to jump start this program and assist dogs and cats.

Our prime concern at Mountain Haven is to assist animals in need or at risk.  If you are at risk of surrendering your pet due to a temporary set back, please reach out to us.  Sometimes a little help is all it takes to make a huge difference.

If you would like to contribute to the Pet Food Pantry please contact us and we will arrange for pick up of any pet food you can send our way.  Even a single can or a bag of cat litter can further assist and sustain this program to benefit pets in our community.  We welcome contributions of dog food, cat food, litter, as well as foods for other types of pets too.  From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for considering helping us to help keep pets in their homes.  It's all about surrender prevention and paying it forward.  A program we feel most passionate about.  Together we can make a huge difference in the lives of animals.
